This year, in cooperation with Sharjah Cooperative, the initiative supports families residing in the suburb and mosque imams, enabling them to meet their basic needs during the holy month of Ramadan.
The initiative included the distribution of shopping vouchers with a total value of AED 20,000, at AED 500 per voucher. Beneficiaries can use these vouchers to purchase essential items, food, and other necessities during Ramadan, according to their families' requirements and daily needs. These cards give families complete flexibility in choosing their essential needs, enhancing their ability to manage their living expenses during Ramadan in an atmosphere of peace and stability.
This initiative is part of a series of community initiatives that Al Khalidiya Council is keen to implement regularly, as part of its social role aimed at strengthening bonds among community members, instilling a culture of giving and solidarity among the district's residents, recognising the significant role played by mosque imams in serving the houses of worship and guiding community members, and supporting deserving families after assessing their circumstances and needs.
His Excellency Khalfan Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of Al Khalidiya Council, affirmed that the "From You and To You" initiative reflects the Council's commitment to consolidating the values of social solidarity and promoting the spirit of giving among community members. He pointed out that allocating the shopping cards aims to enable beneficiary families and mosque imams to easily purchase their essential needs during the holy month of Ramadan, thus contributing to providing for their daily needs and those of their families.
Al Marri added that this initiative embodies the humanitarian and social values upheld by the Emirate of Sharjah, reflecting the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to activate the role of district councils and enhance their community presence in serving and supporting residents of the suburbs. This contributes to strengthening social cohesion and reinforcing the values of solidarity and unity among community members.
In closing, His Excellency the Chairman of Al Khalidiya Council expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Sharjah Cooperative for its cooperation and support of this community initiative. He commended the Society's role in contributing to the success of humanitarian initiatives that serve the community. He also extended his deep gratitude to His Excellency Majid Al Junaid, CEO of Sharjah Cooperative, for his support and cooperation in strengthening community partnerships that serve the residents of the suburbs and solidify the values of giving and solidarity within the community.
