Emirates Library Association elects new board for 2026–2029

Sharjah24: The Emirates Library and Information Association elected its new Board of Directors for the 2026–2029 term during its ordinary general assembly meeting held at the Sharjah Book Authority, in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Community Empowerment and the Sharjah Social Services Department.
The election results saw the appointment of Fahad Ali Al Maamari, Fadel Hussein Bou Seim, Sultan Saif Al Mazrouei, Ahmed Mohammed Al Mushtaghil, Hamad Salim Al Hemeiri, Sheikha Abdullah Al Mutairi, and Iman Salem Al Hammoudi as members of the new board.

The general assembly also discussed the administrative report, which reviewed the association’s key activities during 2025, including implemented scientific programmes, local and international participation, and meetings held to explore avenues for cooperation and the development of the library and information sector.

The meeting further reviewed the financial report, outlining the association’s financial status and future plans, as well as proposed amendments to the association’s bylaws in line with new regulations, which were approved by the general assembly members.

The new board was formed with Fahad Ali Al Maamari as Chairman, Fadel Hussein Bou Seim as Vice Chairman, Sultan Saif Al Mazrouei as Treasurer, Ahmed Mohammed Al Mushtaghil as Secretary, and membership of Hamad Salim Al Hemeiri, Sheikha Abdullah Al Mutairi, and Iman Salem Al Hammoudi.
