Sharjah24: Liverpool progressed to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals after defeating Turkish side Galatasaray 4–0 at Anfield in the second leg of the Round of 16, securing a 4–1 aggregate victory.

Egyptian star Mohamed Salah made up for a missed penalty by scoring a goal and providing an assist, leading Liverpool to a commanding win over Galatasaray.

Liverpool had lost the first leg 1–0, with the goal scored by Gabonese player Mario Lemina. However, the English side dominated the return leg at home and effectively decided the match within an hour.

Goals seal qualification

Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai opened the scoring in the 25th minute. French forward Hugo Ekitike added the second in the 52nd minute, followed quickly by a third from Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch in the 53rd minute. Salah then completed the scoring in the 62nd minute, despite having missed a penalty in first-half stoppage time (45+4).

Quarter-final clash ahead

The English Premier League champions will now face Paris Saint-Germain, who advanced after a dominant 8–2 aggregate victory over Chelsea.
