UAE defenses deal with Iranian missile and drone attacks

Sharjah24: The Ministry of Defence announced that UAE air defence systems are currently responding, on Saturday evening (21 March 2026), to missile attacks and drones originating from Iran. It confirmed that the sounds heard in various areas across the country are the result of interceptions carried out by air defence systems against ballistic missiles, and by fighter jets against drones and cruise missiles.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior urged the public to remain in safe locations and to follow updates and warnings issued through official channels.
