Sharjah24: UAE air defences on Monday, 16 March 2026, responded to six ballistic missiles and 21 drones launched from Iran.
Since the start of the blatant Iranian attacks, UAE air defence systems have dealt with 304 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,627 drones.

These attacks resulted in the martyrdom of two members of the UAE Armed Forces while performing their national duty, as well as the death of five civilians of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian nationalities. A total of 145 people were injured, with injuries ranging from minor to moderate and severe. The injured include nationals of the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Turkey, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, and Sweden.

The UAE Ministry of Defence affirmed that it remains fully prepared and ready to deal with any threats and will respond firmly to anything that seeks to undermine the country’s security, ensuring the protection of its sovereignty, security, and stability, and safeguarding its national interests and capabilities.
