Sharjah 24: Sharjah Television, a division of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, has unveiled a new program titled "Sard" (Storytelling), a documentary series that reaches into the margins of memory to recover stories long overlooked. It sets out to shed light on the human experiences that have helped shape culture, history, and society across the Arab world and further afield.

Authored and presented by Shahd Muhannad, and directed by Mohammed Hussein, Sard conveys its narratives in a unique manner, merging profound insight with compelling visuals to animate each story.

Unearthing hidden stories

The show is more than just a story; it engages the audience and makes them think about what lies beneath the surface. It uncovers details and little-known aspects that often go unnoticed, showing the richness and depth behind each tale.

Connecting past and present

At the same time, Sard brings audiences closer to the cultural and historical backdrop of these stories, helping them feel a connection to the past and a stronger sense of their own cultural identity. The programme airs every Tuesday at 10:50 p.m. on Sharjah Television and is also available on the “Maraya” platform for on-demand viewing.

Mona Al Radmi, Head of Programmes at Sharjah Television, said the aim of Sard is to give overlooked stories the attention they deserve, presenting them through a style that combines solid research with a strong visual presence. “We believe that storytelling has the power to bridge past and present,” she says, “and to deepen the viewer’s understanding of both cultural and human identity. Each episode is crafted as a complete experience—one that combines insight with emotional depth.”
