Iraq rejects aggression against Gulf states and Jordan

Sharjah 24 – WAM: Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the government’s firm rejection of any aggression or targeting of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and Jordan, stressing that the security of these countries is an integral part of Iraq’s own national security.

Commitment to regional stability

In a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Ministry emphasized that regional stability is a shared interest and reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to a balanced foreign policy based on cooperation, mutual respect, and efforts to reduce tensions.

Addressing security challenges

The government confirmed it is taking all necessary measures to address security challenges in accordance with the constitution and the law, ensuring the protection of Iraq’s sovereignty and stability.

Coordination with regional partners

Iraqi security forces continue to coordinate with counterparts in friendly and neighbouring countries and expressed readiness to act swiftly on any information regarding attacks launched from Iraqi territory.

Rejection of using Iraqi territory for attacks

The Ministry reiterated Iraq’s rejection of using its territory to launch attacks against other nations, stressing its commitment to preventing any actions that could threaten regional security and stability.

Support for diplomatic solutions

Iraq also confirmed ongoing communication with regional partners to support initiatives aimed at ending conflicts and returning to diplomatic solutions and political dialogue, in a way that minimizes harm and promotes security and stability across the region.
