The selected Emirati administrative members include Mohammed Hassan Al Suwaidi, Vice President of the federation, as a member of the Organisation and Competitions Committee; Abdul Salam Rabee Al Muhairbi, Secretary-General, as a member of the Ethics Committee; Yasser Alai Al Naqbi, Board Member, in the Developing Nations Committee; Dr Mona Al Raisi, Board Member, in the Women’s Committee; and Qasim bin Ashour in the Coaching and Methods Committee.
In its official statement, the Asian Handball Federation affirmed that these selections were based on competence and experience, expressing its aspiration for the members to contribute to advancing Asian handball during the coming phase.
This representation reflects a renewed Emirati presence across various continental committees and a growing role in supporting development efforts, enhancing the UAE’s standing within Asian handball and extending its ongoing efforts to advance all aspects of the sport.
For his part, Saud Ibrahim Saleh, President of the UAE Handball Federation, expressed his sincere appreciation to the Asian Handball Federation for this trust, praising the decision as a reflection of the advanced status achieved by Emirati professionals across the continent.
He said that the continued presence of Emirati cadres in the federation’s committees is the result of sustained efforts and extensive work by the UAE Handball Federation to develop national talent and enhance their expertise, noting that this consistent representation directly contributes to elevating administrative and technical capabilities.
He added that the selection of these names represents a qualitative boost for UAE handball, as these professionals will help transfer continental experiences and expertise locally, supporting ongoing development and strengthening the competitiveness of UAE national teams and clubs.
He stressed that Emirati cadres serve as “exceptional ambassadors” for UAE sport within the Asian federation system, given their competence, experience, and ability to represent the country in the best possible way, adding that the coming phase will witness further efforts to strengthen this presence and expand participation across various committees.
