Sharjah24: The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned and denounced in the strongest terms the storming and acts of vandalism that targeted the premises of the Consulate General of the State of Kuwait in the city of Basra, as well as the blatant attacks that accompanied it.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the UAE’s categorical rejection of such acts of sabotage, underscoring the necessity of protecting diplomatic premises, missions, and their staff in accordance with international laws and norms, particularly the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which guarantees full immunity for diplomatic buildings and their personnel.
The UAE called on the Government of Republic of Iraq to fulfill its legal responsibilities in securing the consulate and its staff, to investigate the circumstances of these attacks, ensure their non-recurrence, and take all necessary legal measures to hold those responsible accountable.
