The ministry explained that Group B subjects have been split into two categories to balance learning outcomes and reduce pressure on students.
The first category comprises subjects that will not be assessed in the third term due to the suspension of teaching during distance learning. Final grades for these subjects will be calculated based on students’ performance in the first and second terms.
These include physical and health education, a third language for all grades, music, visual arts, and theatre for Grades 1–10, and AI and technology for Grades 1–4.
The second category includes subjects in which assessment will continue unchanged through activities, projects, and evaluation tasks recorded in approved learning management systems.
These include arts subjects for Grades 11–12, health sciences for Grades 11–12, business administration for Grades 9–10, and AI and technology for Grades 5–12.
The ministry emphasised that the revised mechanism will not affect students’ final results, as it is designed to ensure fairness, accuracy, and a balanced reflection of their performance.
The update reflects the ministry’s commitment to adopting flexible, sustainable assessment policies that align with evolving learning models while maintaining educational stability and quality.
