University of Sharjah signs agreement with Alserkal Group

Sharjah24: In the context of enhancing joint cooperation in the fields of education, training, scientific research and innovation, the University of Sharjah signed a memorandum of understanding with the Alserkal Group. The agreement aims to support sustainable development and serve the community and the national economy.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of the university by His Excellency Dr Salah Taher Al Haj, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs. On behalf of the Alserkal Group, it was signed by His Excellency Nasser bin Ahmed bin Issa Alserkal, Chief Executive Officer of Envirol and Board Member. The signing was attended by His Excellency Maher Al Kaabi, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Alserkal Group and Independent Board Member, along with several officials from both sides.

Areas of strategic partnership

The memorandum of understanding aims to build a strategic partnership between the two parties by developing joint training programmes and providing field training opportunities for university students within Alserkal Group companies. It also includes the implementation of joint applied research that supports innovation and aligns with the needs of the labour market.

Cooperation also covers the organisation of conferences, seminars and workshops, as well as participation in community initiatives and exhibitions. In addition, it includes support for graduation projects and postgraduate research, and the promotion of student innovation through funding and consultancy.

Sustainability and community engagement

In the area of sustainability, both parties will cooperate in developing environmental awareness programmes in collaboration with Envirol. They will also launch community and artistic initiatives that contribute to the promotion of arts and culture.

Both parties confirmed that this agreement represents an important step towards strengthening relations between academic institutions and the private sector, enhancing the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and supporting comprehensive development in the United Arab Emirates.
