Reviewing regional security and Iranian threats

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the latest developments in the region and their serious repercussions on regional security and stability. They specifically addressed the Iranian attacks targeting countries in the region, describing them as violations of state sovereignty and international laws. Ghobash pointed to the unprovoked Iranian attacks targeting the UAE, GCC countries, and Jordan, highlighting their negative repercussions on global energy markets, supply chains, and international trade. Both leaders underscored the need to intensify efforts aimed at finding peaceful solutions to these various crises amid delicate global conditions.

UAE policy of restraint and stability

Ghobash noted that the UAE has adopted a clear policy based on restraint and the avoidance of military escalation. He emphasized that the UAE does not allow its territory or facilities to be used for military operations against any regional party, reflecting a firm commitment to supporting international security. This policy is designed to ensure the continued flow of energy supplies and safeguard global economic stability. Both sides reaffirmed the importance of building on the distinguished relations between the two countries to enhance parliamentary cooperation in a way that supports their aspirations for development and prosperity.

Strengthening parliamentary cooperation and economic ties

The two sides highlighted the importance of enhancing coordination between their respective councils by unifying positions and visions on issues of common concern. They emphasized the value of exchanging support in international parliamentary forums, supporting mutual nominations, and sharing expertise and best practices. Ghobash stressed the importance of coordinating within the IPU to issue unified parliamentary stances that serve common interests and promote stability through diplomatic dialogue.

The Ivorian side praised the UAE’s notable achievements, describing them as a source of inspiration across various fields, particularly as a leading hub in digital transformation and tourism. Patrick Achi expressed a strong interest in strengthening investment opportunities between the two countries and stated his desire to visit the UAE in the near future to further explore these avenues. The meeting, which was attended by FNC member Ahmed Mir Hashim Khouri, concluded with a mutual commitment to deepening the partnership between the two nations.
