UAE and Morocco discuss strengthening parliamentary ties

Sharjah 24 – WAM: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), met with Mohamed Ould Errachid, Speaker of the House of Councillors of the Kingdom of Morocco, on the sidelines of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Istanbul.

UAE praises Morocco’s supportive stance

At the outset of the meeting, Ghobash highlighted the UAE’s appreciation for Morocco’s supportive position, particularly its condemnation of Iranian terrorist attacks targeting the UAE and other regional countries, praising Morocco’s firm fraternal stance.

Condemnation of attacks and call for solidarity

He stressed that the Iranian attacks represent a blatant violation of international law and a threat to regional security and stability, calling for solidarity among brotherly nations to confront shared challenges and safeguard sovereignty and national security.

Regional security and global impact discussed

Both sides reviewed recent regional and international developments and their impact on security, energy supplies, and global supply chains, noting the resulting risks to international economic stability.

Strengthening UAE–Morocco parliamentary cooperation

The two sides emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral relations and parliamentary cooperation through friendship committees and coordination in regional and international forums, while also supporting parliamentary diplomacy to promote dialogue, stability, and joint action.
