Sharjah 24: As part of its proactive strategy to reduce risks and strengthen prevention systems, the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority has intensified monitoring and awareness efforts ahead of the summer season. This includes expanding inspection and awareness campaigns across industrial and commercial areas to support rapid response and protect lives and property.

Awareness campaigns target community and employees

The Authority has also launched targeted awareness initiatives for facility employees and the wider community, focusing on correcting unsafe behaviours and promoting best practices in usage, operation, and storage. These efforts aim to foster a culture of safety as a shared responsibility and reduce risks before they occur.

Leadership emphasises proactive prevention

His Excellency Brigadier General Yousef Obaid Harmoul Al Shamsi, Director General of the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, affirmed that the Authority continues to develop its monitoring system through a proactive and flexible approach that adapts to changing work environments. This enhances field efficiency, speeds up response to challenges, and helps contain risks before they escalate.

He highlighted that awareness is a key pillar of the Authority’s strategy, extending beyond inspections to building strong public understanding of risks and prevention methods. He also stressed that embedding daily safety practices across facilities and strengthening partnerships with various entities are essential to achieving a safer and more sustainable environment.

Comprehensive field inspections across sectors

Inspection campaigns cover key sectors including industrial, commercial, and residential facilities. These inspections assess fire alarm and suppression systems, review evacuation plans, and provide practical guidance to improve safety standards.

Commitment to a safer community

These efforts reflect the Authority’s commitment to developing an advanced preventive model that prioritises public safety, enhances preparedness, and strengthens the community’s ability to respond to risks with efficiency and confidence.
