Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Civil Defense Authority, in collaboration with the Department of Statistics and Community Development - Sharjah, announced the results of the Survey on the Perception of Safety of Lives and Property in Sharjah 2025, which revealed positive indicators reflecting a high level of perceived safety among community members across various areas of the emirate.

The survey results showed that 97.9% of participants feel safe from fires in their homes, while 98.8% reported feeling safe in public places. These findings reflect the stability of the preventive safety system and the integration of efforts to protect lives and property.

The results also indicated that 98.3% of community members trust fire stations located near their residential areas, highlighting the presence, geographical distribution, and role of these stations in enhancing the sense of safety within residential neighborhoods.

In the same context, 94.32% of respondents stated that they believe fire incident rates in the emirate have not increased compared to previous years. This reflects the impact of preventive policies, the growing community awareness of safety practices, and the operational readiness of the emergency response system.

The survey was conducted on a sample of 5,085 participants from across the Emirate of Sharjah, who were surveyed on-site at a number of shopping centers distributed across different areas of the emirate, ensuring diversity of responses and comprehensive results. Participation was distributed as follows: 67.5% in Sharjah City, 21.3% in the Eastern Region, and 11.2% in the Central Region, providing balanced representation of the community.

Brigadier General Yousef Obaid Harmoul Al Shamsi, Director-General of the Sharjah Civil Defense Authority, affirmed that the survey results reflect the level of partnership between Civil Defense and community members. He noted that enhancing safety is a direct outcome of sustained preventive efforts, improved readiness, and the integration of roles across relevant entities.

He explained that the Authority views the survey results as a strategic tool that contributes to guiding future development plans, strengthening preventive initiatives, and embedding a culture of safety as a daily practice in the lives of individuals and institutions, in line with Sharjah’s vision of providing a stable and safe environment for all residents.

The outcomes of the Survey on the Perception of Safety of Lives and Property in Sharjah 2025 reflect the success of ongoing efforts to establish an integrated safety system based on prevention, preparedness, and community engagement, reaffirming that protecting lives and property is a shared responsibility strengthened through partnership and cooperation with the community.
