Sharjah 24: Heritage researcher Sultan Khalfan bin Ghafan of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage has revealed that Al Hamriyah Club has staged a heritage-themed event, "Our Heritage, Our Identity," in collaboration with the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, bringing together cultural experts and community members to highlight the importance of preserving Emirati identity.

Gin Ghafan said that the initiative aims to deepen awareness of the UAE’s cultural legacy while reinforcing national values among younger generations. He informed “Sharjah 24” that he delivered a talk on Al Sanaathe code of conduct rooted in Emirati customs—focusing on its role in shaping identity and safeguarding it from outside influences.

Traditional Games

The programme also featured a series of traditional games organised in partnership with Sharjah’s House of Traditional Games; these activities were designed to introduce younger audiences to the pastimes of earlier generations and revive interest in traditional forms of play.

The event is part of a larger initiative designed to improve cultural awareness and promote community involvement through heritage-centred activities. These encompass workshops, exhibitions, and storytelling sessions that focus on the importance of traditional games in the preservation of cultural identity.
