Sheikh Mohammed said the project conveys a message of hope and a commitment to safeguarding human dignity through sustainable giving.
The project is funded by a AED200 million donation from businessman Mirwais Azizi, with operations managed by Al Barakah Dates.
Located in Margham, Dubai, the factory will process locally sourced dates into fortified food products enriched with essential nutrients.
Beyond humanitarian goals, the project is expected to generate jobs, strengthen supply chains, and support local agriculture by sourcing dates from UAE farms, thereby contributing to environmental sustainability and economic growth.
Completion of the facility is scheduled for the end of 2027.
Mohammad Al Gergawi said the factory reflects the UAE’s vision for sustainable humanitarian action and highlights its role in addressing malnutrition and supporting vulnerable populations worldwide.
