Sharjah Coop wins Mansour bin Zayed Agriculture Excellence Award

Sharjah24: Sharjah Cooperative Society has achieved a new milestone by winning the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Agricultural Excellence Award 2026 at the fourth edition, in recognition of its outstanding role as a strategic partner supporting farmers and strengthening the UAE’s local agricultural production ecosystem.

The award was announced at an official ceremony at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, organised by the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority and attended by senior officials, decision-makers, and experts in the agricultural sector.

The honour was presented by Abdulrahman Abdulmannan Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, together with Tariq Ahmed Mohamed Al Ameri, Acting Director General of the Authority, and Moza Suhail Al Muhairi, Chair of the Award’s Higher Organising Committee. The award was received by Mohammed Al Ameri, Executive Director of Support Services at Sharjah Coop.

The achievement reflects Sharjah Coop’s growing role in supporting the agricultural sector through initiatives that empower Emirati farmers, provide effective marketing channels for their products, and adopt innovative solutions to enhance productivity and quality.

Speaking about the win, Majid Salem Al Junaid, CEO of Sharjah Coop, said the award marks a significant milestone and reinforces the cooperative’s commitment to supporting the national agricultural sector. He added that the recognition further strengthens their responsibility to expand initiatives that enable farmers to access markets and enhance the competitiveness of local products.

Al Junaid added that the cooperative will continue to adopt best sustainable practices and expand partnerships with relevant entities to support the UAE’s food security goals, with plans to launch additional specialised programmes focused on agricultural innovation and on improving local production efficiency.

The award aligns with national efforts to advance agricultural sustainability and food security, reflecting the vision of the UAE leadership, particularly the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which aim to develop the sector and foster innovation.
