Sharjah24-WAM: Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum has announced the launch of a new package of initiatives to strengthen family stability and social cohesion in Dubai, coinciding with the Year of Family 2026.

Comprehensive family empowerment programme

The initiatives form part of the second phase of the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme, aligned with the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to place families at the centre of national development.

The programme focuses on enhancing quality of life, supporting family wellbeing, and promoting work-life balance across the emirate.

Housing and financial support

Sheikha Hind directed the allocation of 830 homes in Wadi Al Amardi and Al Aweer projects, valued at AED1.6 billion, alongside an AED83 million grant to furnish beneficiaries’ homes.

This represents the largest batch of ready homes allocated to Emiratis since the launch of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment.

Community infrastructure initiatives

The programme also includes the construction of two community halls worth AED63 million: a wedding hall in Al Aweer 1 and the first outdoor events hall for Emiratis in Mushrif National Park, designed for year-round use.

Strengthening family values

Sheikha Hind emphasised that the initiatives reinforce Emirati family values and contribute to building a cohesive and sustainable society, empowering future generations to contribute to national development.

Al Aweer and Wadi Al Amardi projects

The Al Aweer project includes 398 housing units valued at AED734 million, while Wadi Al Amardi comprises 432 units worth AED767 million. Both projects feature modern designs, sustainable infrastructure and flexible layouts to meet evolving family needs.

Supporting marriage and social stability

The wedding hall initiative aims to reduce marriage costs and support young Emiratis, while enhancing social cohesion through accessible community facilities.

Building on Phase 1 success

The second phase builds on the success of the first phase, which supported the formation of more than 1,100 Emirati families and organised over 1,149 weddings, with beneficiary satisfaction reaching 97%.
