Sharjah 24: Inter were crowned Italian Serie A champions for the 21st time in their history after opening up a 12-point gap over second-placed defending champions Napoli with three rounds remaining, following a 2–0 home victory against Parma in matchweek 35.

Thuram and Mkhitaryan seal the win

Inter owed their victory to Frenchman Marcus Thuram (45+1) and veteran substitute Henrikh Mkhitaryan (80).

Commanding lead at the top

The side, managed by Romanian coach Cristian Chivu, raised their tally to 82 points, 12 clear of Napoli in second on 70, with three matches left to play.

Third title in six seasons

The title is Inter’s 21st overall and their third in the last six seasons, following the 2023–2024 and 2020–2021 campaigns. It was in the latter season, under their former coach—now Napoli manager—Antonio Conte, that they ended Juventus’s run of nine consecutive titles from 2011–2012 to 2019–2020.

Eyes on the double

After clinching the league title, Inter now turn their attention to securing a domestic double, with a Coppa Italia final against Lazio scheduled for 13 May.
