Sharjah24/WAM: On behalf of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State, attended the inauguration ceremony of Laura Fernández, President of the Republic of Costa Rica.
Her Excellency conveyed the greetings of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court. She also conveyed their congratulations and best wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the government and people of Costa Rica.
In return, President Fernández asked Her Excellency Noura Al Kaabi to convey her greetings to UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, along with her wishes for further development and growth for the UAE government and its people.
Meetings with senior Costa Rican officials
Her Excellency also met several officials, including Francisco Gamboa Soto, First Vice President of Costa Rica; Manuel Tovar Rivera, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship; Nogi Acosta Jaén, President of the Sovereign People’s Party; and Father Sergio Valverde Espinosa, founder and director of the Holy Spirit Association.
Strengthening bilateral relations
Al Kaabi reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to further deepening bilateral relations with Costa Rica, noting that this year marks the 16th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
She highlighted key progress in areas of cooperation, pointing to the signing of 15 agreements and memoranda of understanding, most notably the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which forms a cornerstone of a strong and growing economic relationship between the UAE and Costa Rica.
She also stressed that bilateral relations go beyond trade and investment, extending to strong human and cultural ties between the peoples of both countries.
Al Kaabi said: “The UAE takes pride in its strong and enduring partnership based on shared principles that has been built with the Republic of Costa Rica over the past sixteen years.” She added: “The UAE looks forward to continuing close cooperation with Costa Rica to achieve shared goals and explore new avenues of collaboration for the benefit and prosperity of both peoples.”
