The awards recognize the critical contributions of administrative and technical staff whose work underpins the University’s ambitions for global excellence. More than a ceremonial occasion, the event reflected a deeply rooted institutional ethos that places creativity and performance at the heart of everyday practice.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Agamy framed this year’s award as a moment of renewal rather than reflection. He reaffirmed the vision of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University, who has championed a culture where excellence is not a destination but a daily practice. It is, he said, a responsibility to be carried before it is a privilege to be granted.
Furthermore, Prof. Agamy emphasized that the University’s mission to educate, generate knowledge, and serve society depends on individuals who see their performance as part of a larger, interconnected system. True progress, he noted, emerges from the seamless integration of administrative and academic efforts. The evolution of the award’s evaluation criteria this year, shifting toward measuring tangible impact and innovation rather than procedural compliance, signals a maturing institution moving confidently toward regional and global leadership.
Each honoree, Prof. Agamy added, represents more than their own personal achievements. Their work embodies a shared commitment to improving institutional services and fulfilling the trust placed in them by the University’s leadership.
The award ceremony featured a visual retrospective charting the award’s decade-long journey, followed by an inspiring showcase of success stories drawn from the University’s administrative landscape. These narratives highlighted the ingenuity of national and professional talent in developing creative solutions to workplace challenges.
Awards were then presented across multiple categories. Khaled Abdallah Alraboy, Director of the Public Relations Department, was recognized in the supervisory category for his excellence in logistical coordination, while Mehmet Sukru Bellibas, Associate Professor at the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences received the specialized category award for his high research productivity.
In the new employee category, Asma Obaid Alkhayyal was honored in the administrative track, alongside Dr. Hikmat Haddoush in the academic administrative track. Mayedd Saif Al Shehhi earned the customer happiness award for his efficiency and precision in delivering passport and residency services.
Innovation also took center stage, with Fahad Faraz Zahid named innovative employee for his development of renewable energy solutions aligned with the UAE’s climate neutrality goals. In the supporting roles category, Veeman Ragavan Veeman, Adel Mohammed Salim, and Malik Al Khatib were recognized for their dedication and consistent contributions.
The event also celebrated employees whose achievements have elevated the University’s profile beyond its campus. Dr. Asmaa Nusairi was honored for receiving the Distinguished Achievement Award from the University of Dubai, while Dr. Noura Alkarbi was recognized for winning the Emirates Women Award in the cultural category. Fares Al Hadi was also celebrated for earning the Emirates Award for Creativity for People of Determination.
A spirit of collaboration was highlighted through the “Together We Rise” segment, which recognized Engineer Nizar Al Safadi, Amna Yousef Al Hammadi, Captain Mostafa Shaaban, and Engineer Abdulrahman Odeh for their teamwork and collective impact.
The event concluded with an open institutional dialogue session, bringing the Chancellor together with staff in a candid exchange of ideas. The discussion created space for transparency and constructive feedback, reinforcing the university’s commitment to continuous improvement and shared success.
