In his welcoming remarks, Professor Dr Issam Al-Din Ibrahim Ajami, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, welcomed the members of the Advisory Board and conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah. He emphasised that such meetings reflect the University’s commitment to developing its academic programmes by leveraging the expertise of specialists and decision-makers in various fields, thereby enhancing the quality of college outcomes and promoting community service. His Excellency noted that technological advancements, particularly artificial intelligence, are reshaping various sectors and require educational institutions to keep pace with these developments, integrate them into their curricula and programmes, and meet the evolving demands of the labor market.
He further explained that the Medical and Health Sciences Colleges Complex at the University of Sharjah provides an integrated academic and research environment, featuring advanced laboratories and specialised research centers supervised by leading scholars, making the complex a key pillar in supporting pharmaceutical education and advancing research at both the regional and international levels.
Dr Salah Taher Al Haj, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, emphasised the vital role of advisory boards in supporting colleges and advancing their missions and goals. He noted that the advisory board consists of distinguished decision-makers, professionals, and experts who provide insights and recommendations, contributing to the achievement of the college’s vision and long-term objectives.
Prof. Mohammed El-Gamal, Acting Dean of the College of Pharmacy, delivered a presentation highlighting the College’s academic programmes, key research initiatives, and its partnerships with industry and the local community. He also outlined the College’s extracurricular activities, training programs, as well as future plans and projects aimed at enhancing the quality of education, research, and community service.
The members of the Advisory Board included Her Excellency Dr Mariam Galadari, Chair of the Advisory Board of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Sharjah, Consultant at Global Pharma, and former Director of the Department of Pharmacy and Drug Control at the Ministry of Health and Prevention.
