UAE ranks among world’s top 10 governments in 2026 index

The achievement reflects the UAE leadership’s vision for building a future-focused government grounded in innovation, institutional efficiency, flexibility and readiness for global transformations.

The ranking further reinforces the UAE’s standing as a global model of modern governance and aligns with the objectives of the “We the UAE 2031” vision.

Integrated government ecosystem

The UAE’s performance demonstrates the success of its government approach to transforming national ambitions into measurable global achievements through an integrated ecosystem that combines policy efficiency, economic attractiveness, quality of life and investment in people.

The Chandler Good Government Index evaluates government effectiveness across 133 countries and measures factors such as adaptability, institutional strength and policy execution.

Al Gergawi highlights leadership vision

Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, said the UAE has succeeded in redefining the concept of government work globally, under the vision of UAE President Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

He noted that the UAE leadership built a government that not only manages the present but also shapes the future by anticipating change and turning global challenges into opportunities for growth and development.

Global leadership in key indicators

The UAE ranked first regionally and across the Arab world for good governance and achieved leading positions globally in several indicators.

The country ranked first worldwide for government innovation, strategic priority-setting capability, flexibility in implementing plans and strategies, and budget surplus indicators.

Strong performance in services and employment

The UAE also ranked second globally in government services satisfaction, adaptability and employment indicators, reflecting the effectiveness of its policies in improving quality of life, enhancing services and attracting global talent.

In addition, the country ranked third worldwide in long-term vision and institutional coordination indicators, underscoring the success of its strategic planning model and integrated governance approach.

Al Gergawi stressed that the achievement reflects the efforts of national teams that have made excellence and innovation core to government work, helping to position the UAE as a leading global model for building governments of the future.
