Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), Al Hamriyah Branch, organised the Communities Forum 2023, for the second year in a row, under the slogan “Donate blood and make the world vibrant,” in Al Hamriyah Beach Park.
Maryam Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Branch, indicated that the Communities Forum 2023 is one of SSSD strategic initiatives, as it aims to enhance cohesion and integration among communities residing in the region, to reflect the culture of respect and to strengthen cohesion between communities.
Al Shamsi said that SSSD strengthened the activity with a blood donation campaign supervised by the Emirates Blood Bank, in which a large number of people took the initiative to donate. The Blood Bank’s doctors carried out blood sample withdrawals from those wishing to donate through the bank’s mobile vehicle.
Al Shamsi added that the initiative was strengthened with a volunteer opportunity, and participation was available to those wishing to volunteer from Al Hamriyah and neighbouring areas and of different nationalities.
With regard to the programme, it included cultural knowledge presented by Mr. Abdul Latif Al Qadi with the participation of Al Hamriyah Cultural Club, and also providing entertainment competitions for resident communities as a form of cultural and social integration to achieve community cohesion and celebrate cultural diversity.
Draws were also conducted for attendees and gifts were distributed by SSSD in Al Hamriyah.
