Sharjah 24: Sharjah Volunteer Centre, affiliated with Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), signed a cooperation agreement with Sharjah Charity International (SCI) at the association’s headquarters.
The agreement aims to strengthen the principles of cooperation between the two parties, to provide the community with sustainable development and quality services, by spreading the culture of volunteering in the community and contributing to organising awareness activities and programmes for community members, taking into account the rights and duties of volunteers and beneficiaries.
The two parties committed to hold periodic meetings to manage the annual planning of events and projects; follow up on their implementation; cooperate in spreading the culture of volunteerism and participate in awareness programmes, in addition to contribute to organising awareness activities and programmes to serve community members.
On this occasion, Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Community Cohesion Department, said that the agreement reflects both parties’ desire to achieve their common goals and emphasise continued cooperation in different fields of volunteer work.
According to the agreement, SCI is committed to launching and managing volunteer initiatives in accordance with the guidelines; requesting volunteers; and determining their tasks, in addition to inviting working or affiliated employees to register as volunteers on the Sharjah Volunteer Centre Platform. SCI is also committed to nominating a representative to be a member of Sharjah Volunteer Centre, and organising the participation of volunteers to enhance social responsibility.
SSSD, represented by Sharjah Volunteer Centre, provides the volunteer platform to display the agenda of opportunities and initiatives, in addition to publishing volunteer opportunities advertisements, providing SCI with a guide for volunteer work, and training to qualify volunteers to participate in community service effectively.
The agreement was signed by Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Community Cohesion Department from SSSD, and Abdullah bin Khadim, Executive Director of Sharjah Volunteer Centre.
