EU Chief urges Israel to rethink Gaza control plan

Sharjah 24 – AFFP: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Friday urged Israel to reconsider its plan to extend military control over Gaza, expressing concern over the ongoing situation in the Palestinian territory.

Ceasefire and humanitarian access demanded

In a statement posted on X, von der Leyen emphasised the need for an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza, underscoring the urgency of alleviating the humanitarian crisis in the region.
