Spanish expert Resindo Gilberto, who delivered both theoretical and practical lectures that received strong engagement from participants, all of whom were awarded certificates of participation, led the camp.
The Council enlisted Gilberto’s expertise as he is regarded as one of the leading names in Taekwondo coaching at the international level. This step also reflects the Council’s commitment to attracting international expertise and competencies to develop technical staff and raise the performance levels of players across Sharjah’s clubs.
The camp comprised 11 lectures in total, including seven practical and four theoretical sessions for coaches and players across the junior, cadet, youth, and under-21 categories. Participants came from Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club, Sharjah Sports Club, Khorfakkan, Kalba, and Mleiha.
Mohammed Obaid Al Hassan, Director of the Sports Affairs and Development Department, praised the camp and its outcomes, affirming that participants interacted positively with the international expert. For his part, Gilberto commended the impressive sporting facilities of the emirate and the evident attention given to the sport of Taekwondo.
Al Hassan extended his thanks to His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Council, for his continued support, as well as to the clubs and participants for their active role in ensuring the success of the camp and the achievement of its goals.
