SSC discusses enhanced cooperation with Ministry of Sports

Sharjah 24: Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), met on Wednesday at the council’s headquarters with a delegation led by Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, the UAE Minister of Sports, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee, and Chairman of the Executive Office.

The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration and coordination between SSC, the Ministry of Sports, and the National Olympic Committee. Both sides reviewed plans and programmes designed to develop the sports sector and achieve strategic objectives at the local and international levels.

The meeting also explored ways to boost joint initiatives, with a focus on the long-term growth and competitiveness of Sharjah’s sporting landscape.

Present at the meeting were Hanan Al Mahmoud, Board Member of SSC; Mohammed Obaid Al Hussan, Secretary-General of the council; and Faris Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee. Also attending were members of the committee’s board, including Major General Dr Mohammed Al Murr, Qais Al Dhali, and Abdulaziz Al Salman.

Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, Assistant Undersecretary for Sports Development and Competitiveness at the Ministry of Sports and Chairman of the UAE Committee for Nurturing Sports Talent and Supporting National Sports, was also present, alongside Mohammed bin Darwish, Executive Director of the National Olympic Committee, and Saeed Al Badour, Director of the Minister’s Office.
