Atalanta said in a statement, "Ivan Juric has been relieved of his duties as first-team coach, along with his closest assistants: Matteo Barrow, Miguel Veloso, Paolo Barbero, Stjepan Ostojić, and Michele Oricu."
Juric, 50, faced a daunting task succeeding Gasperini, who moved to Roma this season after transforming Atalanta into a formidable force in Serie A over seven seasons.
As many observers and Atalanta fans feared upon his appointment, the Croatian coach failed to rise to the challenge.
Under his leadership, Atalanta won only four of their 15 matches since August (two in Serie A and two in the Champions League).
In the league, his team suffered two consecutive defeats and currently sits in 13th place after 11 rounds, 11 points behind joint leaders Inter and Roma.
Atalanta became the fourth Serie A club to sack their coach this season, following Juventus (who replaced Igor Tudor with Luciano Spalletti), Genoa (who replaced Patrick Vieira with Daniele De Rossi), and Fiorentina (who replaced Stefano Pioli with Paolo Vanoli).
