Sharjah24 : Brigadier General Omar Ahmed Boualzoud, Director General of Criminal Security and Ports Affairs at Sharjah Police, announced the launch of an awareness campaign under the slogan “Be Aware”, aimed at educating the public about the risks of cybercrime and online security threats. The campaign activities began at City Centre Al Zahia in Sharjah and will run for three days.

Brigadier General Boualzoud told Sharjah 24 that despite the positive outcomes of previous campaigns, new criminal methods continue to emerge each year, targeting members of the community.

He also highlighted that collaboration with partners, particularly the Consumer Protection sector, has helped reduce these crimes. This year’s campaign focuses on the dangers of transferring money to unknown accounts among peers, which is often exploited to purchase drugs and prohibited items, aiming to raise community awareness of such risks.
