Brigadier Omar Al Ghazal, Director General of the General Department of Operations and Security Support, explained that the plan includes a series of preventive and proactive steps. These steps focus on strengthening security and traffic presence around mosques, increasing patrol deployments, and monitoring main and secondary roads from the central operations room to ensure smooth traffic flow. Field teams will also be assigned to handle any emergencies or disruptive behaviors that could affect the festive atmosphere of Eid.
Brigadier Al Ghazal pointed out that the security plan includes intensifying monitoring efforts to address any negative behaviors that may affect the security and comfort of society during the Eid period, such as begging and improper parking in the vicinity of mosques, markets and entertainment venues, which may obstruct traffic.
The Police are committed to addressing complaints about disturbances in residential areas caused by irresponsible vehicle use. The plan also stressed that securing homes while travelling is vital, urging the public to adhere to safety procedures and not leave valuables, doors, or windows unsecured.
Brigadier Al Ghazal also affirmed that the police force places great importance on children's safety at swimming areas and beaches. This is achieved through intensified awareness campaigns that stress the need for constant supervision of children and not leaving them unattended, thereby contributing to accident prevention and enhancing family safety during the Eid period.
Sharjah Police urged reporting any emergencies or violations to: 999 for emergencies and 901 for non-emergencies.
