The event was held under the guidance of Mr Nasser Obaid Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Commission, Vice President of the UAE Scouts Association, and International Commissioner of the Commission, and under the patronage of Major General Abdullah Saeed Al Suwaidi, Deputy Chairman of the Commission and General Supervisor of Local and International Activities.
The celebration was attended by scouts, guides, and young girls from Al Yarmouk Private Schools and the Rose School in Sharjah, along with guests representing the Sharjah Private Education Authority, a number of scout leaders, and several parents.
The ceremony began with a group photo of the participants, accompanied by the singing of the national anthem and the waving of the UAE flag.
Then, the patron of the event, Major General Abdullah Saeed Al Suwaidi, Deputy Chairman of the Commission, delivered a speech in which he extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes to UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah; Their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates; and the Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers.
Al Suwaidi wished the UAE people and residents continued security, stability, and prosperity.
The patron also commended the participation of the Scout Movement members in presenting artistic performances expressing their love for the nation. He emphasised that Eid Al Etihad represents unity, cohesion, and solidarity among the people of the UAE, and that these celebrations renew the pledge of loyalty to the wise leadership. The ceremony featured a variety of creative and harmonious performances.
The Rosary School choir presented a selection of national songs and anthems, followed by a flag dance performed by a group of Girl Guides. Girl Guides from private schools then presented a dance entitled "My Emirates," and young children participated in an artistic tableau entitled "My Homeland." The programme concluded with an awareness-raising dance performance entitled "No to Bullying."
At the end of the ceremony, the Commissioner's office expressed its gratitude to the leaders and scout groups from the private and Pink Schools for their contributions to the success of the event. The activities also included press interviews with the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA) to document this important national occasion.
