Sharjah Volunteer Centre launches “Together We Raise UAE Flag”

Sharjah24: In celebration of the UAE’s 54th Eid Al Etihad, the Sharjah Volunteer Centre, affiliated with the Sharjah Social Services Department, launched its community initiative “Together We Raise the UAE Flag – Volunteering for Our Community” across the Emirate of Sharjah. The initiative targets employees of government and semi-government entities, encouraging national participation and promoting community engagement.

Launch event and objectives

The initiative was launched at Al Suyoh Family Park, aiming to foster a sense of national belonging and support the Sharjah government’s vision of institutional volunteering among department and authority staff. Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of Community Cohesion, explained that the programme seeks to involve employees in volunteer activities that reflect loyalty and national pride, highlighting the exemplary role of Sharjah government employees in serving the nation and society.

Volunteer activities and locations

As part of the initiative, employees participate in placing National Day logos on vehicles of community members at designated locations, including 06 Mall parking, Sharjah Cooperative Society branches, Aljada area, Al Rahmaniya and Al Suyoh Mall parking, and parking areas of service authorities frequented by visitors. The programme reinforces government employees’ role in promoting national identity through a dignified and organised display of national symbols, while allowing each entity to contribute an appropriate number of staff.

Al Hammadi concluded by emphasising that the Sharjah Volunteer Centre will continue to launch innovative initiatives to strengthen community work and instil national values among both employees and institutions.
