The event began with the national anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Quran. Popular and heritage performances were presented by Al Shuhouh Group and Hanan Al Dosari, alongside Al Ayala, magic shows, competitions and prizes sponsored by Sharjah Aquarium and the Elderly Care Home. Senior citizens also shared memories of the UAE’s development, creating moments full of pride and nostalgia for the country’s founders.
Celebrating union across generations
Maryam Al Qatari, Director of the Elderly Care Home, highlighted the special significance of celebrating Eid Al Etihad at the home, noting that it touches the hearts of seniors who witnessed the nation’s early union and progress. She emphasised that Eid Al Etihad is more than a celebration; it is a story of the UAE, written by the founders through their dedication and loyalty. The event also aimed to strengthen national identity, spread joy among seniors, and promote social engagement between community institutions and elderly residents, reflecting the spirit of union across generations.
