Sharjah 24 – WAM: The BRIDGE Summit is set to begin tomorrow in Abu Dhabi, focusing on enhancing innovation and developing new tools for content creation.

BRIDGE Alliance: Driving global media collaboration

The summit is part of BRIDGE Alliance, an international organisation promoting inclusivity, diversity, and impact across the media, content, and entertainment sectors. Headquartered in the UAE, BRIDGE Alliance brings together former heads of state, global leaders, policymakers, and CEOs to create a collaborative, future-ready content ecosystem.

Advancing media modernisation in the UAE

The UAE continues to modernise its media sector to boost competitiveness and global appeal. Recent initiatives include the launch of the Advertiser Permit for individuals publishing promotional content on social media, fostering transparency, professionalism, and protection for creators and society.

Regulatory frameworks support responsible media

The Cabinet also issued the Administrative Violations and Penalties Regulation for Media, providing a framework to promote responsible media practices aligned with national legislation.

Growth across UAE media sectors

The UAE Media Council issued 2,562 media licences and permits in the first half of 2025, covering digital media, filming, newspapers, and magazines. In publishing, over 514,000 book titles were handled, with 35,000 distribution permits issued and 32 titles blocked for conflicts with national values.

In cinema, 611 films were approved for screening, generating over AED 309 million from more than 6 million ticket sales. The Council also authorised distribution of 131 electronic games across the country.

UAE emerges as a global media hub

With a flexible regulatory framework, advanced digital infrastructure, and strong support for high-quality content creation, the UAE has become a leading international media centre, serving as a model for innovative and responsible media governance.
