Sharjah Sports Council commends decision to establish cycling club

Sharjah 24: His Excellency Mohammed Obaid Al Hussan, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Sports Council, affirmed that the decision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to establish the Sharjah Cycling Club constitutes an important step that completes the system for developing cycling sport in the Emirate.

His Excellency Mohammed Obaid Al Hussan, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Sports Council, praised the wise and far-sighted vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, following the issuance of the decision to establish the Sharjah Cycling Club.

A qualitative leap

He stressed that the establishment of the club represents an important step that completes the development framework of cycling sport in the Emirate, through the presence of a specialised club that undertakes the care of the sport alongside the other Sharjah clubs, noting that the new club will contribute to creating a qualitative leap in the practice and advancement of this sport.

Promoting a cycling culture

Al Hussan explained that the Sharjah Sports Council has made great strides in promoting a culture of practising cycling among citizens and residents through its various activities and programmes, pointing out that the Council will work to provide all the elements necessary for the success of the new club, in a way that fulfils its mission and aligns with the objectives set out in its founding decree.
