Al Qaseer welcomed His Excellency Al Khashram and accompanied him on a tour of the exhibitions, during which he was introduced to the key events and programmes of the current edition of the festival. The tour featured a selection of artistic works that celebrate the spirit of Islamic art and revive its presence through distinctive visual approaches presented across Al Khatt Square.
Al Qaseer provided an overview of the artworks on display on the walls and in the facilities of Al Khatt Square, clarifying their artistic concepts and execution. The Kuwaiti Deputy Consul and the accompanying delegation also participated in part of an artistic workshop in Arabic calligraphy and Islamic ornamentation, organised by the Sharjah Calligraphy and Ornamentation Centre, which involved male and female students from various countries as part of the Islamic Arts Festival programme.
Al Khashram praised the strong attention Sharjah gives to Islamic arts, commending the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in supporting cultural and artistic activities and strengthening their role within society. He noted that this approach reinforces the emirate’s position as a global centre for cultural exchange and a leading destination for art enthusiasts.
During his visit to the exhibitions at Al Khatt Square, the Deputy Consul observed diverse works by artists from various countries, including paintings, murals, and artistic installations inspired by the aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy and Islamic ornamentation. He expressed his admiration for the high artistic standard of the participating works and the professional organisation of the festival.
Al Khashram highlighted the cultural importance of the Islamic Arts Festival, describing it as a lively platform that displays the richness of Islamic artistic heritage and its capacity to engage with modern aesthetic changes. He also confirmed the strength of the fraternal relations between the United Arab Emirates and the State of Kuwait, especially in the cultural sector, and shared his hope to boost cooperation through joint initiatives and programmes that promote the arts and foster creative exchange.
At the end of the visit, the Kuwaiti Deputy Consul thanked the Sharjah Department of Culture for the warm welcome and excellent organisation, praising its continuous efforts to promote the artistic scene and foster connections between artists and audiences worldwide.
