Khorfakkan Municipality implements emergency plan for rainfall

Sharjah 24: Khaled Ali Al Naour Al Naqbi, Head of the Environmental Services Department at Khorfakkan Municipality, stated that the municipality implemented a comprehensive emergency plan to address the rainy weather conditions that affected the city on Thursday and Friday. This plan included continuous field monitoring and the deployment of specialised teams to ensure effective management of rainwater.

Field monitoring and specialised teams

The municipality activated field monitoring from the onset of the weather event, deploying specialised teams to critical locations. These teams were responsible for overseeing areas most affected by rainfall and ensuring swift action where needed.

Equipment and rapid response

Al Naqbi told “Sharjah 24” that the municipality utilised 11 water tankers and 18 pumps to manage water accumulation, allowing for efficient drainage and maintaining road safety and smooth traffic flow. The measures ensured minimal disruption and prevented any reported damage.

Readiness and efficiency

Al Naqbi emphasised that the municipality’s efforts handled the situation with high efficiency, maintaining full readiness to respond to any further developments or emergencies.
