Sharjah 24: The Al Hamriyah swimming team delivered an outstanding performance at the UAE Swimming Federation Championships, held on December 20 and 21, 2025, at the Hamdan Sports Complex in Dubai, winning eight medals—four gold, three silver, and one bronze—while setting two new national records.

Record-breaking performances by Al Shehhi brothers

The Al Shehhi brothers were the standout performers of the championships. Hamad Yousef Al Shehhi claimed gold in the 50m freestyle with a time of 24.36 seconds, setting a new national record and surpassing his previous mark of 24.69 seconds recorded last year.

His brother, Hassan Yousef Al Shehhi, also made history by setting a new national record in the 50m breaststroke with a time of 33.94 seconds, breaking a decade-old record held by Abdullah Eidrous. Hassan added to his achievement by winning gold in the 50m breaststroke and silver in the 50m freestyle.

Club leadership praises achievement

His Excellency Hamid Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Hamriyah Club, congratulated the swimmers on their impressive results, with special praise for the Al Shehhi brothers. He emphasised that these accomplishments reflect the sustained efforts and dedication of the club’s technical and administrative teams.
