The black-and-white mural, located on the side of an old building in Bayswater, depicts two figures—likely children—wearing winter hats and wellington boots, lying down and pointing toward the sky. A wide-angle photo shows the figures on a corrugated-iron garage roof next to an overflowing skip, with a crane and red light towering above, possibly referencing a Christmas tree.
Speculation over second mural
An almost identical mural appeared a few miles away under the Centre Point building on Tottenham Court Road, where the children appear to be looking up at the skyscraper. Social media buzzed with speculation about whether Banksy was behind both works, though by Monday afternoon only the Queens Mews mural was confirmed on his Instagram.
Banksy's recent works and auctions
Earlier this year, Banksy sparked controversy with a mural outside the Royal Courts of Justice, criticizing the UK’s crackdown on protesters. In May, one of his paintings, a reinterpretation of Jack Vettriano's "The Singing Butler," sold for nearly £4.3 million ($5.5 million) at Sotheby’s London auction.
