Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with David Lammy, the United Kingdom’s Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Justice.

The meeting took place as part of His Highness’s working visit to London, where both sides discussed developments in the region and their broader implications.

UK reaffirms solidarity with the UAE

David Lammy reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s solidarity with the UAE and condemned the treacherous Iranian terrorist attacks targeting civilian sites and facilities in the UAE using missiles and drones, describing them as a violation of international law and the UN Charter.

For his part, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed appreciation for the UK’s supportive stance, affirming the safety of all residents and visitors in the UAE.

Regional security and strategic cooperation discussed

The two sides also discussed the wider implications of these attacks on regional and international peace and security, including threats to maritime navigation, energy supplies, and the global economy.

Sheikh Abdullah stressed the importance of strengthening international cooperation to protect maritime corridors and safeguard global trade, while both sides reviewed efforts to enhance sustainable peace and deepen bilateral strategic relations for the benefit of both countries.

The meeting was attended by Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, and Mansoor Abulhoul, UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
