Sharjah Theatre Days Committee prepares for the 35th edition

Sharjah 24: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the 35th Sharjah Theatre Days will be held from March 24-31.

As part of the preparations for the upcoming edition, the organising committee of the cultural and artistic event held its second meeting at the Cultural Palace on Monday, December 22. The meeting was chaired by Ahmed Bourhima, Director of the Theatre Department at the Department of Culture and Director of Sharjah Theatre Days, and attended by committee members Ismail Abdullah, Ahmed Al Jasmi, Mohammed Jamal, and Abdullah Rashid.

Applications review

The meeting reviewed the applications submitted by participating groups and set the dates for the viewing and selection committee's work from February 27 to March 7. The deadline for submitting applications is Wednesday, January 25.

Sharjah Theatre Days was established in 1984. It is an artistic and cultural event where Emirati theatre groups compete for a number of awards recognising excellence in theatrical performance. The festival also features numerous accompanying cultural activities with the participation of many local and Arab artists.
