More than 600 players from 43 teams representing 11 countries—France, Spain, Russia, Switzerland, India, the Philippines, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE—will compete over four days.
Matches will take place in five age categories: Under 19, Under 16, Under 14, and Under 12 for boys, and Under 16 for girls. The games will be held at the Khorfakkan Cultural and Sports Club, Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled, Khorfakkan Ladies Hall, and Kalba Club Hall.
The tournament was announced by the Sharjah Sports Council, in cooperation with Jam Sports Academy, during a press conference on the Khorfakkan Corniche on December 23. Attendees included His Excellency Salem Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Khorfakkan Cultural and Sports Club, Ibrahim Saif bin Ghafan, Head of Team Sports at the Sharjah Sports Council, Ahmed Suleiman, Director of Jam Sports Academy, Jam and Emad Othman, basketball specialists, representatives of participating delegations, and media personnel.
