The event marked the magazine’s recent win of the Arab Family Award, presented by the Arab Union for Sustainable Development and Environment under the League of Arab States in Cairo. The Cultural Office also recognised a number of media professionals and regular attendees of its cultural events, seminars, and forums.
Salha Obaid Ghabish, Head of the Cultural Office and Editor-in-Chief of Marami, delivered the keynote address, noting that this was not the magazine’s first award. She recalled a previous accolade she received from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan several years ago, describing the latest honour as a further step forward in the magazine’s journey of distinction. She emphasised that the award reflects the magazine’s serious, practical and distinctive editorial approach, an assessment confirmed by the award committee.
Ghabish explained that the ceremony was organised to express gratitude to all those who have contributed to the magazine's success over the years, recognising them as true partners in its achievements.
She also highlighted the ongoing support of the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, who regularly contributes articles addressing key family and community issues.
The address concluded with thanks to the magazine’s editorial team and the Cultural Office staff for their continued support, noting that one of the most meaningful aspects of the award was its announcement under the dome of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
