Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Department of Culture (SDC) has released issue number 76 of both “Al Wusta” and “Al Sharqiya” magazines for January 2026. The issues feature diverse topics highlighting the growing development and modernization in the Central and Eastern Regions and their respective cities and areas.
Al Wusta magazine

Issue 76 of “Al Wusta” magazine, in its “Achievement” section, highlights the national celebration held by the Emirate of Sharjah last December at the Mleiha Archaeological Centre, marking the inscription of the Al Faya site on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The event was attended by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. This inscription culminated a long history of archaeological research in the Emirate. The issue’s “Harvest” section reviews the most prominent development projects implemented by the Sharjah government in the Central Region during the past year (2025).

In the community interviews section, this issue includes an interview with Ahmed Musbeh Obaid Al Tunaiji, Director of Public Health at Al Dhaid Municipality, in the "Path to the Summit" section. The "Authentic Features" section features an interview with Muhair bin Ali Mohammed bin Lahij Al Ketbi from the Mleiha region, who experienced Bedouin life and mastered its crafts. The "Work" section showcases the experience of Saud Ali Al Rafisa Al Ketbi in creating digital content related to heritage. Starting with this issue, the magazine launched a new section titled "Palm Tree Patron," celebrating the palm tree heritage, and featured an interview with Musbeh Butti Abdullah Al Qaidi. The "Field" section is dedicated to Mohammed Ali Saeed Al Kaabi, goalkeeper for the handball team at Al Madam Cultural and Sports Club.

The photo reports section includes a report on the second edition of the Al Dhaid Honey Festival in "Under the Spotlight," a report on the Al Murailat area in "Welcome," and a showcase of the talents of young Noura Abdul Rahman Obaid Balith Al Tunaiji in "On the Path." The issue also features a diverse selection of articles, features, and engaging heritage reports.

Al Sharqiyah magazine

Issue 76 of Al Sharqiyah Magazine presents, in its "Achievements" section, a report on development projects in Wadi Al Hilu, where the infrastructure has developed rapidly, enabling residents to easily access all essential services. The "Harvest" section highlights the most prominent development projects implemented by the Sharjah government in the Eastern Region during the year 2025.

In the "Path to Excellence" section, this issue includes an interview with Dr Fahad Saeed Ahmed Saeed Al Dhaheri, a legal expert. The "Authentic Features" section features an interview with Mohammed bin Ali bin Qaddour Al Shehhi. The "Educators of Generations" section explores the experience of educational consultant Ahmed Omar Abdullah Al Naqbi. The "Work" section reviews the experience of engineer Younis Yousef Al Balushi in developing technical software. The "Path" section features an interview with Najwa Al Awani, a seasoned interviewer and seminar presenter. The "Welcome" section includes a photo report on the Khorfakkan University Library, while the "Under the Spotlight" section features a photo report on the "On Earth and Water" exhibition, organised by the Sharjah Art Foundation at the Ice Factory in Al Kabba, which runs until the end of May.

The issue also includes a photo report on the "On Earth and Water" exhibition. In the “Field” section, the issue reviews the results of the fifth edition of the “Kalba Beach Games,” and in “On the Path” it reviews the experience of student Sumaya Ahmed Mohammed Al-Barout, and in “Biography” we present the biography of the late Khalfan Mohammed Hassan Al-Nizwani Al-Marashda, a man of good influence and a good reputation.
