Sharjah 24: Iraqi poet Hazbar Mahmoud Ali Al Zubaidi announced that the 22nd Sharjah Arabic Poetry Festival has started today, Monday, at the Sharjah Cultural Palace. This year’s festival features over 80 poets, critics, and media personalities from around the Arab world, showcasing a rich cultural program that celebrates Arabic poetry and promotes its importance in society. The event will last for seven days, from January 5th to 11th, and is organized by the Cultural Affairs Department of Sharjah.

In an interview with Sharjah 24, Al Zubaidi highlighted that this festival continues the strong support for culture in the Arab world, as expressed by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. This support includes important initiatives like creating poetry centers in various Arab capitals.

Al Zubaidi also mentioned that the festival will wrap up with a special poetry evening at the Kalba Literary Council, marking a significant closing event that underscores the festival's cultural impact and its connection to audiences across different cities in the emirate.
