Sharjah Arabic Poetry Festival hosts third evening

Sharjah24: As part of the 22nd Sharjah Arabic Poetry Festival, the Poetry House in Sharjah hosted the third poetry evening on Wednesday night. The event was attended by His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture, alongside a large audience of poets, critics, intellectuals, and enthusiasts of Arabic poetry, filling the venue.

Participating poets

Seven poets performed at the evening: Hassan Al Matroushi from Oman, Omar Al Saray from Iraq, Hagar Omar from Egypt, Ahmed Al Suwayri from Syria, Tahani Al Subaih from Saudi Arabia, Abdulrahman Al Hamiri from the UAE, and Dr Ahmed Balboula from Egypt. The session was hosted by Saudi poet Abdul Karim Al Hijab.

Poetic presentations

The evening opened with Hassan Al Matroushi presenting a varied selection of his poems, followed by Omar Al Saray, who took the audience on a journey exploring themes of love and sorrow. Hagar Omar delivered emotionally rich readings, while Ahmed Al Suwayri shared a series of Syrian-inspired works. Tahani Al Subaih performed a set of expressive poems, Abdulrahman Al Hamiri presented his selections, and the evening concluded with readings from Dr Ahmed Balboula.

Honouring the poets

At the conclusion, Abdullah Al Owais honoured all participating poets with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their creative contributions.
