Sharjah Football Stars Week ends with Vieri’s team triumph

Sharjah24: The fourth edition of Sharjah Football Stars Week concluded on Monday, 13 January 2026, following a week of high-profile sporting events held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council. The event, organised by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, brought together 36 international football legends and professional footgolf players from around the world.

Over two days of competition, the Sharjah International Footgolf Championship saw more than 170 professional players take part. Hungarian player Laszlo Szabo claimed first place overall, followed by Ukraine’s Yevhen Levchenko in second place and Hungary’s Tamas Goban in third.

Legends Padel Tour Cup finals

The finals of the Legends Padel Tour Cup were held on Saturday, 10 January, featuring renowned football icons including Francesco Totti, Aldair and Robert Pires. The duo of Fernando Llorente and Alessandro Florenzi secured first place, with Christian Vieri and Christian Panucci finishing second.

Football Stars Night highlights

On 11 January, fans enjoyed the iconic Football Stars Night match, played for the first time in an 11-a-side format. Team Stars, led by Christian Vieri, defeated Team Legends, captained by Youri Djorkaeff, 4–1 in a friendly match celebrating sportsmanship and camaraderie. The evening also featured fan meet-and-greet sessions, autograph signings, and photo opportunities with football legends.

Sharjah’s vision for sports tourism

The event underscored Sharjah’s growing status as a regional and international hub for sports tourism, combining competitive events with community engagement and cultural exchange.
