Sharjah crowns winners of 4th Triathlon

Sharjah24: The fourth edition of the Sharjah Triathlon, organised by the Sharjah Sports Council at Al Mamzar Corniche in cooperation with several supporting entities, concluded successfully with the participation of 450 athletes and strong, competitive races.

The event was attended by Bakhit Saeed Al Qass, Director of the Sports and Community Events Department, who crowned the winners.

Sprint category results

In the UAE nationals sprint category, Hamad Al Ali secured first place, followed by Hamed Al Yamahi in second and Hamad Al Thuraydi in third. In the women’s category, Safaa Al Salem claimed first place.

In the open category for men, Dexter Button finished first, followed by Abdullah Al Ali and Jacob Macredis. In the women’s open category, Anna Laura took first place, ahead of Florence Isberg and Takara Gliksman.

In another sprint division, Matthew Green won first place, followed by Salem Jamal and Ahmed Al Badoor. Fatima Lanjawi secured first place in the women’s category.

In the open men’s category, Sreedath Sudheer came first, followed by Xavier Bouttier and Chris Hubble. In the women’s open category, Charlotte Thurston finished first, followed by Rebecca Dalimore and Nila Sajan.

Team and Olympic category results

In the men’s team sprint category, the team of Mohammed Atef, Yousuf Al Shahi and Ben Bellenping took first place, followed by the team of Khalid Al Abdouli, Omar Al Zaabi and Khalifa Hashem in second, and the team of Yulian Demianov, Solemia and Ivan in third.

In the Olympic category for UAE nationals, Mohsen Al Ali secured first place, followed by Mohammed Bakhit in second and Khalifa Al Darmaki in third. Kulthoum Al Mazmi won first place in the women’s category.

In the open Olympic category, Felipe Azevedo claimed first place in the men’s race, followed by Ilya Fedorov and Sameer Varma, while Caroline Bridges won the women’s race, ahead of Hannah Seymour and Mariana Lemos.
